Exotic and charming, enriching and exciting - a night in a lighthouse is an adventure for anyone who whiches to do something special while on holiday.
Accommodation in a lighthouse is not necessarily a very practical thing to do. It's often necessary to rent a boat, or call a taxi boat to transport you to the lighthouse - unless you're on holiday in Southern Norway with your own boat. It's normally required that you bring your own bedlinen and water too. But when you arrive the little island in the sea, put your feet on those smooth, coastal rock slopes and see the lighthouses in silhouette against the southern skies - that's when you realise its all worth it.
Listen to how the waves beat against the hard rock, see the sunset colour the lighthouse in yellow and orange, feel the salty air from the sea, and let nature put you in the holiday mood.
In Tvedestrand, you can stay at Lyngør lighthouse, and in Arendal it's Store Torungen lighthouse that offers you a bed for the night. Both are rented out by the trekking association in Aust-Agder, and it's possible to rent through this website.
