2012:
June-August
Bakgårdkonserter (backyard concerts) in Fagforeningens hus in Arendal all summer, with famous and dear entertainers. www.ibakgaarden.no
25-28 May
Sørlandets Båtmesse (Sørlandet boat fair) - Norway's largest floating boat fair in the heart of Pollen, Arendal town centre.
1-3 June
Arendal korfestival (choir festival) - singers from all over the country come and set the tone of Arendal.
1-3 June
Heimover - Home - Real stuff! Safe and lovely surroundings create the atmosphere around a new music festival in Åmli with quality performers like singer/songwriterJonas Alaska.
23 June
Byspeil 2012 - concerts with Maria Mena w/band, and Jarle Bernhoft w/band, outdoor at Sam Eydes plass in town.
26-29 June
Hove festival – Norway's largest rock festival with both new and well-established entertainers from Norway and abroad.
29-30 June
Internasjonalt marked (international market) - booths and food stalls, and entertainment from Norway and abroad.
July
Flosta regatta and Kilsunddagene - yearly regatta weekend in Kilsund, between Arendal and Tvedestrand, with market stalls.
3-8 July
Skjærgårds Music & Mission festival - Norway's largest sober music festival.
10-15 July
Kystkulturuka (coastal culture week) - events in Tvedestrand for children and adults. Large outdoor concerts on the island Furøya.
5 July
Summer market in Arendal - Thursday is Ta sjansen (boat jump competition) in Pollen at 9pm, activities in the streets, and the stores are open until midnight. Traditional Market, a European food market, is open in the market square until 7 July.
July
Tvedestrandsregattaen (Tvedestrand regatta) - Boats, speed, entertainment.
25-28 July
Canal Street - Arendal town's main musical event with lightouse jazz, evening jam, and backyard concerts.
27-29 July
APL Race Week - sail regattas in the Arendal skerries, several competitions.
11 August
Top Åmli Day and Top Åmli Run - activities in the centre and a race to 7 mountain peaks in one day in Åmli.
16-19 August
Skjærgårdstreffen - accordion and dancing at Hove, Tromøy outside of Arendal.
2013:
February
Arendal Winter Festival, new festival with concerts etc, lighting up the winter days in Arendal.
